Combustible Cladding Rectification Problem
The AIBS says that the government must take urgent action to address short term issues facing the industry. In particular, the government has to fix the combustible cladding rectification problem with a national, unified approach, it says.
However, the federal government has expected states and territories to fix the problem, says AIBS. The result is a piecemeal approach in which each jurisdiction has gone about it their own way, conducting their own audits of affected buildings with different solutions being proposed, that is, if there is a solution proposed at all.
At the BMF, though, ministers noted the work of the officials and Standards Australia to develop a technical specification for labelling aluminium composite panels.
