Cladding that Caused Valencia Fire Revealed as Larson™ ACP cladding Made by Alucoil

Grenfell Fire Bereaved Visit Valencia Blaze Ruins
Larson PE® Likely Cladding Responsible for Valencia Tower Fire
The Larson PE product is similar to Reynobond PE, the cladding blamed for allowing the Grenfell fire to spread so quickly. Both have been given, in some tests, a European classification of E for reaction to fire.
The ratings go from A1, which is best, to F.
Products with an E rating make a “high contribution to fire” according to the European standard.

ACP Cladding Testing and Analysis
Melbourne based lab has developed a unique methodology for classification of Aluminium cladding materials (ACM) in accordance with ICA categories for polymer /polyethylene content. We are one of only fa few organisations in Australia to be accredited by Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) for analysis and testing of aluminium cladding for the building industry. We offer a package utilising Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X ray fluorescence and combustibility testing to identify the materials, make up and combustibility of typical ACM samples. We also offer Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM-EDX) analysis where required. We have also established methodology for assessing bulk density and other parameters of concrete composite materials (typically referred to as Conpolcrete or Expanded polystyrene panels) consisting of mixtures of cementitious materials and polystyrene polymer. The lab has extensive experience in the analysis of:
- Aluminium Composite Panel (ACP) cladding: Polymer and mineral identification, Polymer and mineral content
- Expanded Polystyrene Panels (EPS): Bulk Density, polymer identification and content, mineral content
- Insulation and sarking: including Natural insulations, Mineral Wool Insulation, Polyurethane Foam Insulation, and many others: Polymer Identification and flammability.
- Polyisocyanuarate Foam Panels (PIC): Polymer identification and Polymer content.
